devlog #4 (20.01.2023) - Tweaks

Changes:

- I removed the view from above at the start to keep the player from the temptation of re-rolling until they get an easier maze.

- I gave the walls surrounding the Minotaur to make it easier to find.

- For the same purposes, I littered skeletons on the map leading towards the Minotaur's cage. The way I implemented this was by having a pointer start at the cage's entrance and do a random walk for a random but weighted small distance and then put down the skeleton.

- I made new music. It glitches when there's too many sound effects going on because Pico-8 can only accommodate 4 sound channels which is too bad but oh well.



I'm not sure where to go from this. I couldn't think of what to change besides a few QoL tweaks. I feel like it's still missing something important. I also  can't seem to get more than like two different people to play it, so there isn't a lot of feedback to work with. But I'm sure it'll attract more players once the game is good.

P.S.: If you're wondering, I failed the interview I mentioned last time. Then I had a different one with another company. Failed it also. It's cool. I'm applying to more stuff. In fact I've been so busy doing that that I haven't had much time to work on this update. It's really difficult to keep going when 75% of companies don't even bother to reply. But I'll keep going.
